FIRST AID TRAINING & CPR COURSE
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the minimum requirement for workplace first aid compliance.
Our HLTAID011 Provide First Aid training course is designed to train personnel in how to respond to First Aid emergencies that may happen at home, office or anywhere in daily life. You will learn the skills and knowledge to be able to provide first aid response and life support, manage casualty(ies), the incident, and other first aiders, until qualified emergency help arrives at the scene of the incident.
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is trained in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This course includes the units:
- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid (release 1 – current)
- HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (release 1 – current)
All students enrolling in First Aid must complete an LLND assessment to demonstrate they have the relevant LLND (language literacy numeracy and digital skills) prior to completing their online assessment and practical training day.
Once enrolled students will receive a link for the LLND assessment and once completed they will receive another link for the pre-course work assessment which must be completed prior to the practical training day.
Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites to participate in this course.
FOS Entry Requirements:
- Access to a computer that has appropriate software and capacity to access learning and assessment materials
- Access to an internet connection with sufficient capacity to download course materials (e.g. broadband connection)
- USI -Students are to provide their Unique Student Identifier.
- Fitness to participate (fitness levels will vary depending on the course)
- Enclosed footwear and suitable clothing
- LLND (language literacy numeracy and digital skills) – A basic level of reading, writing and the ability to articulate in English are required in order to complete the course work. For students with LLND issues they will be required to complete a LLND assessment and will be required to arrive 30mins prior to class to complete this. Students with a language barrier are required to provide a scribe for their training. If a student fails the LLND assessment they will be referred to external student support services for further assistance. Enrolment will not commence until the required LLND skills are achieved.
Course Details
- Duration: This is a blended course with self-paced online learning (e-Learning) and face-to-face training. Before attending the face-to-face training, students will need to complete their e-Learning. Depending on the student’s learning ability, they should allow up to 6 hours for reading and e-Learning. Face-to-face training and assessment takes 7 hours in a classroom environment.
- Time: 7.30am – 3.00pm
- Cost: $185.00 per person ($199.00 per person for training held from 1st December 2024)
- Course Venue: Focus On Safety Office or on Client’s premises
- Delivery Mode: Blended training. Online assessment and face to face in a classroom setting
- Certification: Successful participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment
- Microwaves and fridge are available for student use. Morning tea & Lunch are not provided.
Cancellation of Training
Focus On Safety Pty Ltd realise that cancellation or deferment of a course is sometimes unavoidable and therefore have established the following guidelines:
- Focus on Safety Pty Ltd course registration/booking form binds the client to full payment on completion of the Training or Assessment
- No penalty applies if the student is moved to another course date in the first instance as long as the request is received more than 3 days before the commencement of the course. However if a student is moved multiple times full course fees will apply. Movement requests on the day of training are not permitted. These will be treated as a non-attendance and full fee will apply.
- Full fee if cancellation or movement request is received less than 3 business days before the commencement of the course.
- If a Student turns up more than 10 minutes late for a class, the student will be declined entry into the course, they will be treated as a non-attendance and the full fee will be charged.
