The Low Voltage & CPR Only course is designed to equip participants with the skills and confidence needed to execute a rescue operation involving a live low voltage electrical device. Additionally, it provides training on performing CPR on an unconscious individual, aligning with the guidelines set out by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC). The course incorporates a theoretical understanding of CPR and practical exercises that emphasize the practical aspects of CPR.
Before proceeding to the Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) section of the course, successful completion of the CPR component is mandatory. This prerequisite ensures that participants have a solid grasp of CPR techniques before moving on to the more specialized aspects of low voltage rescue.
The LVR unit specifically addresses the procedures necessary for rescuing individuals from live low voltage apparatus, excluding overhead lines and underground cables. It is tailored to the requirements of various work functions, such as transmission, distribution, or rail work, with a focus on maintaining health, safety, and risk management processes at all operational levels. The course aims to instill a commitment to safety as an integral part of everyday work practices.
