Manual Handling/Manual Tasks Training Course (non-accredited)
Manual Handling, also known as manual tasks, is any activity requiring effort to lift, move, push, pull, carry, hold or restrain any object, including a person or animal.
Poor manual handling practice is one of the most common causes of injury in the workplace and the injuries can be disabling and costly.

Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites to participate in this course.
FOS Entry Requirements:
- USI -Students are to provide their Unique Student Identifier.
- Fitness to participate (fitness levels will vary depending on the course)
- Enclosed footwear and suitable clothing
- LLN (language literacy and numeracy) – A basic level of reading, writing and the ability to articulate in English are required in order to complete the course work. For students with LLN issues they will be required to complete a LLN assessment and will be required to arrive 30mins prior to class to complete this. Students with a language barrier are required to provide a scribe for their training. If a student fails the LLN assessment they will be referred to external student support services for further assistance. Enrolment will not commence until the required LLN skills are achieved.
Course Details
- Duration: 2 hours
- Time: 7.30am – 10.00am face to face or self-paced for online bookings
- Cost: $115.00 per person plus GST for face to face delivery of $60.00 per person plus GST for our E-Learning option (online)
- Course Venue: Focus On Safety Office, on Client’s premises or online delivery available
- Delivery Mode: Face to face in a classroom setting or online delivery available
- Certification: Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance
- Microwaves and fridge are available for student use. Morning tea & Lunch are not provided.
Cancellation of Training
Focus On Safety Pty Ltd realise that cancellation or deferment of a course is sometimes unavoidable and therefore have established the following guidelines:
- Focus On Safety Pty Ltd registration/booking form binds the client to full payment on completion of the Training or Assessment
- No penalty applies if student is moved to another course date in the first instance. However if student is moved multiple times full course fees will apply
- Full fee if cancellation or movement request is received less than 48 hours before the commencement of the course.
